Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is proud of her graduates who are successful in their careers. EMU Graduate Gökhan Gökten graduated from the 
Faculty of Architecture in the year 2000 and has since taken over the Gökten Construction Industrial and Trade Co. Ltd. The company is very large and it operates out of the Iskenderun region of Turkey. Gökten has been the president of Iskenderun Young Businessmen Association for three terms, the president of the Turkish-American Businessmen Association Çukurova branch and the vice-president in general along with being a member of the board of directors of Turkey Young Business Confederation.

Gökten stated that the biggest reason for his success comes from the education he received from EMU and added that in today’s rapidly changing world, competition is extremely important which EMU taught him how to handle such situations. While Gökten studied at EMU, he was the president of EMU Student Council which helped him learn and understand the responsibilities of such a position.
